Bishnu Dhanuka talks about the art of investing at Daly College Business School
On 23 November Mr. Bishnu Dhanuka, a consummate entrepreneur and investor, had a highly engaging session on Warren Buffet Style of Investing with students of Daly College Business School. The Warren Buffet Principles of Investing aim to create wealth through simple thumb rules. One such rule being investing only the surplus money saved and not by borrowing, long term vision, and never lose money. During the talk Mr. Dhanuka emphasised that while we can make a bad deal with a good person, we can never make a good deal with a bad person. When it comes to education, Mr. Dhanuka’s motto is ‘Learn it once and learn it right.’ He also discussed the selection of excellent businesses based on the concepts of consumer monopoly and toll bridge. The Warren Buffett Club was conceptualised and designed by Mr. Dhanuka in 2011. Over time the simple principles of the Warren Buffett Club have evolved into the fine art of investing.
Mr. Dhanuka is also the founder of Millennium Mams, a not-for-profit organisation based out of Kolkata that focuses on women empowerment through financial literacy. Millennium Mams offers an exhaustive and yet easy-to-understand classroom-based learning course explaining the dynamics of Indian economy. Catching the attention of the target audience, this model has proved highly useful and beneficial for over two decades. Since its inception in 1994, Millennium Mams has trained over 1000 ladies, many of whom became successful business-women, entrepreneurs, and investors. Mr. Dhanuka has addressed various forums on financial literacy and investment principles across India including FLO chapters of Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata and YPO Kolkata.
Mr. Bishnu Dhanuka is a committee member of Bharat Chamber of Commerce. A staunch believer and regular practitioner of yoga, Mr. Dhanuka is the Chairman of the Kolkata branch of Vivekananda Yoga Kendra. He is passionate about spreading knowledge of the holistic approach to yoga.
