Industry Visit to Audi Automobiles – a learning experience
On 28 October, students of Level II at DCBS went to Audi Automobiles, Pitampur for an industry visit. Coordinated by Dr. Rinku Joshi and Dr. Shreshth Chhabra, the visit was meant to make students aware of input and output processes and the flow procedure.
Audi Automobiles is owned by Bhagirath Brothers, established in 1956. This company now acts as the research point for new developments involving both product and process and all regulatory activities and their feasibility regarding current product implementation. It specializes in making new products with concepts, for example, limb vans and soil testing vans.
Mr. Rohan Sharma, Director of the group, spoke about the company’s establishment, the challenges they face, and how these challenges should be looked at as opportunities. He also spoke about the importance of taking risks and identifying hidden opportunities.
The company personnel was supportive while explaining the process of making buses, including quality parameters and checks involving different regulating agencies of the government. It was shared that Audi Automobiles is the first company to get the order for buses from Gujarat Transport Services and for containers involved in Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan at Indore.
Students were excited with the visit as they imbibed firsthand knowledge of a range of aspects related to production and operations. Based on the learning gained, students would be submitting a reflective group report.
