Don't lose faith in people even if you are let down: Alagh

"MANAGEMENT INSTITUTES should have a separate semester for students to learn what India is all about. Understanding the environment in which one has to work by being in touch with the people who are the consumers is essential to achieve success." All India Management Association president Sunil Alagh expressed these views at a function held at the Daly College Business School (DCBS).

To be successful, one has to be first clear of what one wants to be and once it is clear, the student must understand what is happening around, said Alagh  It is not essential to join a business school to be a successful entrepreneur as business schools just discipline your mind to be more focused, he said further.

Alagh said one thing he has learnt in his career is that even if you are let down, you should not lose your faith in the people and you should have a good sense of humour always as it simplifies the problems.

Pantaloon Retail MD Kishore Biyani also visited the School and addressed the students as part of their Industry Interface Cell programme.

In his address to the students, Pantaloon Retail. MD Kishore Biyani ~ gave some interesting insights into the retail business and said Pantaloon opens an outlet every fortnight and the speed at which the company is growing is very different from its competitors. He compared Pantaloon Store with Jonathan Livingstone book The Seagull and said “the seagull achieves a height while flying and Pantaloon has achieved today the same heights.” He explained the operations, functions and strategies of retail business to students.

DCBS Director Mr. Sumer Singh presented a memento to Mr. Alagh and Mr. Biyani.
