An Introduction

DCBS conducts BA (Hons.) Business Studies, a three year undergraduate programme in Business Management.  This programme offers students an opportunity to choose from two variants: -

 

1.       BA (Hons) Business Studies

                                                               i.      All Three years of studies in India

or

                                                             ii.      First two years in India and the final year at Leicester Business School, De Montfort University, UK

Students pursuing this programme are also offered a unique opportunity in terms of one-year placements. Student can club this three-year degree with an additional placement year in the corporate world making it a more value added and useful four-year degree.

The four-year degree is more appreciated for PG Admissions in the universities of UK, USA and Australia.

Advantage DCBS:

·         Complete all three years of the degree programme in India                               

(Cost of studies will reduced to 1/10 for the same degree in UK)

·         One year Optional placement in UK for corporate exposure (Application of skills and knowledge builds confidence & helps admission in MBA)

·         Exemption from TOEFL/SAT/IELTS

Optional placement Year: a unique opportunity

Placement year constitutes 48 weeks full-time employment with a company immediately after the degree.  Placements are normally arranged and approved by members of placement unit of the institute.  However, you may arrange your own placement subject to the acceptance of the Placement Manager.

During the placement year, the student will be assigned a tutor who will make regular visits to the place of employment. In discussion with student and the employer, will produce a report on student’s performance.

·        Opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learnt from the course

·        Development of interpersonal and communication skills

Placement cell will help develop communication skills (eg, report writing; CV writing; telephone conversation technique; presentation skills and interview techniques), and functional awareness so that students can make an informed choice regarding the available opportunities. 

Upon successful completion of the Work Placement you will be awarded the University’s Work Based Learning Certificate’

 Eligibility:

  • Minimum 60 per cent marks in class XII (A level).
  • Candidate should NOT have demerits of compartments in class 12th

 Admission Test:

 The admission test is a multiple choice objective type. Duration of the test is one hour. It consists of 60 questions covering Verbal  aptitude (Reading Comprehension, English Usage, Vocabulary), Quantitative Aptitude  (Algebra, arithmetic (of class 9th and 10th ) and logical reasoning

 Interview:

An interview is a face- to- face meeting, especially for the purpose of assessing the qualities of a candidate. Interviews are aimed at evaluating the candidate’s academic knowledge, awareness of current topics, communication skills, the clarity of thought and expression, poise and sense of balance.
