“First 30 Seconds”………
First 30 seconds are most important for an individual if they want to create a lasting impression on others, people remember it for long and create a perception for a person which is associated like a brand. This was emphasized by Mrs. Pruja Guleria from a leading global management consultancy firm Ernst and Young while conducting 2 sessions on Personal Branding In Daly College Business School on 10 and 11 October 2019. She further stated that each individual is a Brand whether a person is aware of it or not and is constantly communicating with others through their actions which are observed by all. We project our “brand” in every sphere of life — at work, in the family surroundings, socially. In our own media network, we need not be who we really are, in real life. It is very important to note that we are what we project ourselves to be! Also one must be very careful in projecting self-image on Social Media.
The session further emphasized an important aspect of creating Personal Brand by identifying elements that are worth talking about and focus on aspects such as education, work-based interest, hobbies, and casual interest. Self-branding can be done very effectively if a person creates it by mixing identified elements strategically.
Mrs Guleria also shared a few tips which can make the personal brand stronger. one must be consistent, visible, should communicate and must remember the rule of “First 30 seconds”
